1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. shortening 2 eggs 1 c. milk 4 tbsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. vanilla 5 or so c. flour
Mix
sugar, shortening, eggs, then add milk and the rest of the ingredients
except flour. Then add flour 1-2 cups at a time until batter is stiff
but still a little sticky. Roll on floured surface and cut out. Deep fry
in heated oil. Turn once only. Drain on brown paper bag.
