CARAMEL TOAST PUDDING

3/4c..sugar                                                   1/4t.salt
2slices of toast                                              1/2t. nutmeg
1tbsp. butter                                                  1egg slightly beaten
METHOD.... Caramelize the sugar, cut each slice toast in quarters, dip in caramel and arrange in bottom of greased baking dish. add milk to caramel remaining in pan, stir until dissolve. add remaining ingredients, pour over toast, bake in slow oven, 300 f.,about 1 hour. serve with cream, rich milk or a flavored sauce.
